Emergency services are responding to a fire at a dental practice in Cumbria.
The fire broke out at Chandlers Lane Dental Practice in Brampton, adjacent to Front Street which is closed as firefighters with breathing apparatus enter the building.
Smoke was seen coming out of the upper windows, according to an eyewitness.
They said the fire is currently out and the scene is being closed with the dental practice having suffered 'quite extensive damage' as firefighters remove furniture from the building.
There are three appliances from Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service present with breathing apparatus and one police car on duty to facilitate the road closure.
Another Brampton resident said: "We live two doors down and wondered what the smoky smell and the banging were when they were trying to break through the doors.
"We had to shut all our windows, it's quite scary."
A spokesperson from Cumbria police said they were made aware of the fire by Cumbria Fire and Rescue at 2.47pm.
Their role was to help with the road closure and scene safety, they said.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue has been approached for a comment.
