SUNDAY saw the 21st annual Cumberland Trunk Road Truck Run, involving several vintage trucks taking to our roads.
The event was attended by Paul Grindley, who took the photos as the vehicles passed by on the A6071 in Brampton and described the spectacle: “Anyone travelling along the trunk roads of North Cumbria today (September 1) could have been forgiven for thinking they had stepped into a time machine and gone back in time, as over 40 classic vehicles, mainly trucks, took part in the 21st annual Cumberland Trunk Road Truck Run.
“The event started from Gilwilly Industrial Estate in Penrith this morning before the vehicles took on the challenge of climbing up Hartside Pass to take them to Alston, from where they headed on to Brampton and then Longtown, before heading back to Carlisle and then their final destination, the White Heather at Kirkbride.”
According to event organisers, the run is organised for ‘classic and vintage commercials to get together and take in some of the sights in and around Cumbria’.
