CARLISLE Futsal Club has announced an 'innovative' partnership with Carlisle Youth Zone (CYZ).
The club, which operates out of the Sands Centre, delivers a futsal education program for boys and girls ages four to 16 in Carlisle with a pathway to the National League.
Futsal, a variant of association football played on a hard court surface, is a fast-paced, skill-intensive game.
As part of the new partnership that 'aims to raise awareness of Carlisle Youth Zone, a charity that provides opportunities for young people in Carlisle to fulfil their potential', Carlisle Futsal Club's first team shirts will feature the CYZ logo throughout the 2024/25 National Futsal League season.
After the partnership was announced, Carlisle Futsal Club's head coach Phil Codd expressed his delight.
He said: "We are thrilled to team up with such an impactful organisation like Carlisle Youth Zone.
"With many synergies in supporting and empowering local youth through sport and recreational activities, this partnership is a natural fit.
"We believe futsal, and sport in general, has the power to change lives, and the Carlisle Youth Zone shares this vision."
David Jane, head of partnerships at Carlisle Youth Zone was also on hand to explain more about the benefits of the new partnership.
He said: "We are delighted that Carlisle Futsal Club has chosen to support Carlisle Youth Zone.
"Partnerships with local organisations are vital to help raise awareness of our cause and enable more young people to benefit from the opportunities we provide.
"This partnership will make a huge difference in helping us reach more young people across Carlisle."
