Carlisle bare-knuckle boxing champion Danny Christie is set for a big title fight in Spain.
The Currock fighter will take on top American opponent David Mundell for the BKFC world middleweight title in October.
It will see Christie aim for the rare BKFC achievement of becoming champion in two different weight divisions.
The Cumbrian was the British light-heavyweight champion before vacating the belt as he moved to middleweight.
Now, after one middleweight fight - a victory over Jimmy Millar in June - the 39-year-old will target the title at the BKFC Spain event in Marbella on Saturday, October 12.
Christie will face a formidable opponent in 33-year-old Florida fighter Mundell, a mixed martial arts professional who has a record of eight wins and one defeat in the BKFC.
He has been middleweight champion since December 2022 when he defeated Francesco Ricchi for the vacant belt.
He has since successfully defended the belt by defeating Mike Richman and Doug Coltrane last year.
Christie was recently in Spain as part of a major BKFC promotion that also featured Conor McGregor, who is a part owner of the BKFC.
The clash with Mundell will be the Carlisle man's seventh BKFC contest, Christie having six wins and one defeat to his name so far.
His victories over Terry Brazier, Darren Godfrey and Anthony Holmes earned him the British light-heavyweight title, before the Cumbrian suffered defeat to American Jared Warren.
Christie bounced back with a victory over David Round to defend his British title, then moved to middleweight where he saw off Millar in Newcastle.
His contest with Mundell will be one of a number of title fights in Marbella, with Franco Tenaglia taking on Tony Soto for the lightweight belt, and Austin Trout fighting Rico Franco for the welterweight title.
Christie is one of three Cumbrians fighting on the BKFC scene along with Egremont heavyweight Agi Faulkner and Maryport lightweight Bartek Kanabey.
