Carlisle’s much-loved chocolate shop celebrated its grand reopening over the weekend as it opened the doors to the public from its new home.

Founded by Keith Tattersall in 2019, Castle Chocolates has moved into a larger premises on Fisher Street, previously occupied by First We Eat deli.

The relocation, just three doors down from its original unit, brings more space to accommodate the shop’s expanding operations.

"A huge thank you to everyone who came down for our big opening yesterday," Keith said.

"It was an amazing day and I can't believe so many people came down to support us.

"It's been a long journey to get to where we are and we are really excited about what the future holds," he said.

Keith gave special thanks to his wife Emma, his parents, his family, and his team who have helped support Castle Chocolates' journey along the way.

"Staff give the business a personality and I'm so lucky to work with my amazing team.

“And finally every customer past and present for keeping the dream alive," he said.

The opening of the shop's new doors was marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Carlisle’s MP, Julie Minns.

"It was my absolute pleasure to cut the ribbon and officially open the new shop," Ms Minns said.

"Keith and the team have built a fantastic business over the last five years, and Castle Chocolates is just one of a growing number of great local small businesses in and around Fisher Street."

With a shop three times the size of the original, Castle Chocolates is now set to expand its product range, offering customers a wider selection and specialty collections year-round.

With the sweet-toothed favourite moving out of its former unit on Fisher Street,  The Old Bank has submitted plans to move in and create a new bar area to accommodate the restaurant in its space.
