Mountain rescuers were called out to two people out on a night walk who became disorientated in the dark.
Penrith Mountain Rescue Team said the call came through at 9.10pm on August 28 from two walkers benighted on Carrock Fell.
They were in Keswick MRT’s patch but after a conversation with their team leader, and given their recent workload, it was decided that the Penrith team would conduct the rescue, a Penrith MRT spokesperson explained.
They added: “Having used Phonefind to confirm their location near Round Knott a small team headed up the fell to the walkers.
“Once provided with head torches and a warm jacket they were walked off the fell and back to their car.”
The callout involved five team members and took 3.5 hours.
