A SHOP in Whitehaven has held its own car show.

Milltech Computers, on James Street, held the car show on Saturday, August 31.

Hundreds of people turned up to see the array of vintage and modern vehicles that were on display.

Mayor Graham Roberts, Josh MacAlister MP, and town crier Marc Goodwin were in attendance.

The car show was held on the same day as Harbour Fest, which was organised by Rosehill and the Whitehaven Harbour Commissioners.

Rose Harrison, who works at Milltech Computers, said: "We couldn't have wished for a better turn out and even the weather was on our side.

"So a special thanks to all exhibitors for bringing their cars, bikes, and other unique vehicles which made the event spectacular.

"A special thanks to Linda and Wayne who helped get these amazing vehicles here on the day and for helping overall to make the day go so smoothly, as did Marleen Jewell at the town council who helped us with support and planning and without her help the event wouldn’t even have gone ahead.

"We were also pleased to have special guests on the day including the Whitehaven town mayor Graham Roberts and the Whitehaven town crier Marc Goodwin.

"Also, thank you to the United Reform Church who kindly allowed us to use their facilities for the day as well.

"Also, a mention to our neighbours at the Barra Jacks and Sheila at Golden Harvest who also made the day special.

"And a day without refreshments wouldn’t have been the same so, thanks to Cross's Cafe, The Lunch Box, Taste, Courtyard Cafe, and the chicken shop."
