The McDonald's in Whitehaven has temporarily closed for renovations, with plans to create 25 new jobs once the upgrades are finished.
The fast-food chain at the Bridge Retail Park will be closed for over a month.
It is expected to reopen on October 8, 2024.
Lodged in April, plans for a refurbishment including extensions totalling 6.2 sqm, a new entrance lobby, upgraded drive-through booths, new glazing and access door, were approved by Cumberland Council in June.
It's said the restaurant is going through a 'Convenience of the Future' refurbishment.
Victor and Karen Arciniega who own and operate the McDonald’s restaurant at Whitehaven - Bridge Retail Park, said: “McDonald’s is always looking into ways to improve the customer experience and by investing in these changes in our restaurant, we’ll be doing just that.
"We are proud to say that the investment will also create 25 new roles for local people.
"We can’t wait to welcome our customers back into the restaurant to experience the changes firsthand”.
