A Carlisle band have this week returned from a lucrative set at a legendary Ibiza venue.

NOVABLOOD, a trio that combines DJ appearances with their live band work, followed the likes of Kylie Minogue, Fatboy Slim, and Rita Ora in playing the boutique hotel and music venue Pikes.

The hotel is perhaps best known to Brits as the place where Wham filmed their Club Tropicana video in 1983, along with its celebrity clientele of actors, musicians and superstar DJs including George Michael, Grace Jones, Julio Iglesias and Freddie Mercury who held his 41st birthday party there in 1987, described as ‘the most incredible example of excess the Mediterranean island had ever seen’.

Member Mark Zowie said of their appearance: “Having been given the opportunity to play Ibiza we jumped at the chance.

“Pikes has a soul all of its own on the island not to mention its legendary crazed history.

“It suits what we do and more importantly what we’re about.”

Their four-hour set drew a large crowd at the poolside bar, proving successful as they’ve been asked back next year.

Novablood recently signed a record deal with London-based Old World-New World, and released their first single titled Biblical in July 2024 with a music video directed by Clive Tonge, who also directed the 2018 horror film Mara.

Their latest single called Bring Your Love was released last week, described by Miami-based music mag D’Vox as a ‘sumptuous slice of well-crafted and stunningly produced electronica’.

Their upcoming album called Destroy The Magic will e released next month with the band playing various live dates around the UK over the coming weeks.

The singles are available to hear and download on all major music providers including Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes and Amazon Music.
