A Cumbrian village pub which was opened in the 18th century has been put up for sale.
The Shepherds Inn, a pub and restaurant in Melmerby, Cumbria, has been put up for sale by property adviser Christie & Co.
The pub, which was built in 1789, is located at the foot of the Hartside Pass on the edge of the Eden Valley, approximately nine miles east of Penrith.
The family-owned pub has been mentioned in the Good Beer Guide by CAMRA and has received a rating of 5 stars from TripAdvisor.
The pub has been owned and operated by husband-and-wife team, Margaret Haddow and Head Chef, Mike Haddow, since 2018, who are now selling to retire.
They said: "After many years in the hospitality industry, we have decided to entrust Christie & Co with the sale of our pub.
"We are confident that they will find the right buyers who will appreciate our pub as much as we do.
"We hope that the new owners, along with the village and our staff, will continue to enjoy it for many years to come."
Business Agent at Christie & Co. who is handling the sale, explained more about selling the historic pub.
