An annual skills fair hosted by the city’s former MP will return next year.

John Stevenson will be organising and hosting the 11th Carlisle Skills Fair on January 23, 2025, from 2pm to 6.30pm at Carlisle College.

Mr Stevenson said: “One of my proudest achievements has been organising and hosting the annual Carlisle Skills Fair.

“This year saw the best yet, with record numbers of employers, training providers, young people and job seekers attending.

“I was amazed that so many people contacted me after the election and asked if I would keep this going and organise the 11th in 2025.

“With the continued support of organisations like Inspira, Carlisle College and Carlisle Job Centre, I could not say no.”

The fair brings together young job seekers with employers that can provide work and/or further training, and ‘is so important for the future prosperity of our area’, Mr Stevenson added.
