A vintage clothes and textiles shop is celebrating one year in business.

Angel Friperie, which is located on Brampton's Main Street, marked the milestone on Friday, September 6 but has extended the celebrations at reaching its first year in the market town.

The shop, which specialises in 'vintage textiles and pre-loved affordable fashion' is owned by Angela Morritt who has a passion for all things fashion-related.

After reaching the milestone, Angela expressed her delight and thanked the local community for their continued support since the shop's opening.

She said: "It has flown by but I think that is because it has been so enjoyable. It really does not feel like it has been a year.

"I think it has also been meeting lots of people as well, people with the same mindset when it comes to sustainability and just being part of this local community.

"I have been supported very much by the local community and I get a lot of regulars.

"It's been great and I think people's constant enthusiasm for the shop has been great and the fact that they maintain that enthusiasm for vintage clothing and the ethos of using things again that still have life in them, that has been lovely to see."

Before opening Angel Friperie, Angela previously had an outlet in Vintage North, but now gives her full attention to her own shop opposite the Spar which is open on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday between 10am and 5pm and Saturday between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

Angela also previously worked as an NHS administrator, but after working through the pandemic chose to focus on her passion for vintage clothes.

She said: "I have always had a passion for textiles and this shop is all about vintage and pre-loved fashion along with textiles and promoting a sustainable clothing ethos."
