A Whitehaven man has been jailed for six years and nine months for child sex offences.
Stephen Wilson, 60, of Burnmoor Avenue, Whitehaven was jailed at Carlisle Crown Court on Tuesday, September 10.
Wilson pleaded guilty to three offences of sexual activity with a child.
The offences were committed between December 2021 and May 2022.
He has also been given a 15-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the sex offenders register.
Detective Constable Alex Todd who was the investigating officer in the case said: "Wilson showed no remorse for the offences committed.
"Despite his guilty plea he continued to blame the victim in this case, but today is facing a lengthy prison sentence.
"We are thoroughly and compassionately committed to investigating all reports of serious sexual offences.
"I would encourage anyone who has been victim of a sexual offence to contact police so that our officers can investigate. Your report will be dealt with sensitively and professionally and you will be supported throughout our investigation."
