KESWICK Mountain Rescue have rescued an injured runner on part of the Cumbria Way below Lonscale Fell.
The team were called out a 15:01pm on Saturday, September 7 to rescue a runner who slipped and injured her ankle whilst competing in a running event.
Writing on social media, Keswick Mountain Rescue Team said: "A competitor in a mountain trail running event slipped and injured her ankle on part of the Cumbria Way below Lonscale Fell.
"The alarm was raised by other competitors some of who stayed with her. Event medics arrived and treated the woman.
"Keswick team members stretchered the woman back to the team Landrover for a drive down the Glenderaterra Valley to the Blencathra Centre where she was collected by her husband for a trip to hospital."
The rescue involved eight team members and lasted nearly three hours.
