A free webinar to support nurses and midwives facing fitness-to-practice investigations is set to take place next week.

The event, hosted by national charity Nurse Lifeline in collaboration with NMCWatch, is a response to the urgent need for emotional and psychological support for healthcare professionals undergoing these investigations.

The webinar will take place on September 19 from 6pm to 7.30pm.

Cumbria-based Teresa Griffiths ARRC MBE and chair of Nurse Lifeline said the investigations have taken a significant emotional toll on the individuals involved.

She said: "It’s clear that there is a real need for support during these difficult times.

"This webinar is a step toward addressing that need by providing both practical advice, a safe space and importantly, a sense of community recognising that the people going through these investigations are not alone."

The webinar aims to offer emotional and wellbeing tips to those currently going through the investigation process or those who have experienced it and require ongoing support.

The collaboration between the two organisations stems from the recognition that registrants face immense stress, anxiety, and isolation while going through a fitness-to-practice process.

These investigations can leave professionals feeling lost, overwhelmed, and uncertain about their future, impacting both their careers and mental wellbeing.

The webinar will provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space for healthcare professionals to connect, share their experiences, and find solace.

Participants can remain completely anonymous and only share as much as they wish to.
