A LISTED building in Maryport can have a proposed new entrance with roller shutter door, Cumberland Council planners have ruled.
The application was for a site at Holstead House in Fleming Place and the decision to grant planning permission subject to conditions was made on Tuesday (September 10).
According to the officer's report the application site comprises an existing garage located within the curtilage of Holstead House and on the corner of Fleming Place and Little Camp Street.
It states: "Holstead House is a Grade-II listed building and is located within the Maryport Conservation Area. The property is accessed via Fleming Place with existing on-street parking to the front and a garden area to the immediate east.
"The property was originally part of a larger dwelling with the adjacent property Clifton House."
According to the report the opening for the shutter will be on the southern elevation of the existing garage fronting onto Fleming Place and the door will be finished in a cream colour to match the existing wall.
It will provide access into the existing garage and garden area.
