A comedian who is coming to Carlisle this weekend recently released a skit in which she asked the city’s mayor a vital question in the lead up to her show.

Stephanie Aird, known for her videos on social media, will present an evening of music, comedy, tribute acts, and games at Harraby Community Centre on September 14.

A former teacher from Hartlepool, Stephanie Aird is now a full-time comedian, singer, and songwriter by day, and café-bar owner by night.

Her videos about sardines, her partner Ian, coffee shops, and trying on outfits have racked up over 60million views and over 650,000 followers across social media.

She has toured across the UK and appeared on TV shows including ITV’s Judge Rinder and BBC’s Sunshine Scammer and Take a Hike.

Earlier this week she released a video promoting her Carlisle gig in which she pretended to speak to the mayor, asking if residents were ‘posh or cultured’.

Her concern was that because her show is when Strictly Come Dancing starts, potentially ‘posh or cultured’ city residents may be unlikely to appear.

Assured that we are far from it, which works as her show is ‘rude, crude, and shocking’, she let out a hearty ‘thank Christ for that’ and offered him some spare tickets as thanks for the information during the comedic video.

Tickets for the show, which is 18+ only, cost £21.99 for general admission and £38.50 for admission plus a dressing room meet and greet.
