A north Cumbrian church community will run, skip, hop, and jump for 24 hours straight this weekend to raise funds for much needed upgrades.
St John the Evangelist church in Crosby-on-Eden kicks off its fundraiser at 5pm on September 13 with a 24 hour sponsored treadmill event at Crosby on Eden Parish Hall.
Each hour, a new person will be running, walking, jumping, hopping, or skipping their way to reaching the fundraising goal.
The church is raising the money to install disabled access and disabled toilet facilities, with further plans for a kitchenette too.
On September 14, there will be a craft and local produce fayre running from 10am until 3pm as well as entertainment for children and a raffle drawn by Val Armstrong.
Raffle prizes include a family day pass for Walby Farm Park, meal vouchers for The Sally, Crown & Thistle, and Stone Inn, family passes for Solway Aviation Museum, a voucher for the Axe Lounge, and more.
There will be a two course supper on Friday evening for £10 and refreshments available through the night.
On Saturday, they will be serving back and sausage rolls in the morning and soup and rolls in the afternoon.
