A ghost hunt event will take place at a historic 16th century Cumbrian site.
Spirit Seekers, hosts of several paranormal events nationwide, will hold a session of ‘ghost hunting’ at Dacre Hall in Lanercost.
Built in 1538 as part of a family home, Dacre Hall was used to entertain and impress noble guests, and sits in place of what was once part of the Lanercost monks' living quarters.
A spokesperson from Spirit Seekers said: “During the 1800s, the area became famous for sightings of shape-shifting ghosts that were said to be deterred by the use of a bible or a crucifix.
“In more recent years there have been sightings of ancient soldiers, feelings of being tapped on the shoulder and hearing strange noises such as knocking, clashing metal, groaning, screaming and crying.”
It takes place from 9pm to 1.30am on September 21 – tickets cost £34 and there are six places left.
