CASTLEGATE Medical Centre in Keswick is changing its booking system to a 'total triage' model.

As of yesterday (September 16_, patients at the practice are being encouraged to submit an online consultation form via the website to request an appointment.

The form asks patients to provide details about their medical issue.

A GP will then review the submitted information and determine the most suitable clinician for the patient.

This could be a GP, nurse, physiotherapist, or clinical pharmacist.

For those unable to complete the online form, or if the query is urgent, patients are advised to call the practice on 017687 72025.

A receptionist will then fill out the form on their behalf.

The practice has been working with the General Practice Improvement Plan (GPIP) to make these changes to the appointment booking system.

The new system aims to ensure 'that everyone gets safe and timely access to the care they need'.

"We are excited to bring this positive change to the practice and we thank you for your patience and understanding whilst we make these improvements," their website reads.
