A WEST Cumbrian stage prodigy will be performing alongside a Broadway and West End star this winter.
Amber Hooper, of Whitehaven, applied to perform alongside Kerry Ellis in a performance at The Carnegie in Workington.
Amber was successful and she will now be going on to perform a song in the theatrical icon's show.
Ellis is an actress and singer who is best known for her work in in musical theatre and her crossover into music.
She has played several iconic roles including Nancy in Oliver! at Drury Lane, Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, Ellen in Miss Saigon, and Fantine in Les Miserables.
Rose Marie Hooper, Amber's mum, said: "Amber auditioned in the Search for a Solo Star contest to perform alongside Kerry Ellis, a West End star.
"She had to do a singing audition and send the video off to Kerry Ellis' company.
"Whoever was selected would go on tour with Kerry, at the various dates she was performing at across the country.
"Whoever was selected would be able to perform with Kerry at one of her shows across the country.
"She was selected to appear at the Workington Carnegie Theatre... there were over 300 applicants to the competition so she's been successful in singing at one of the tour dates.
"A lot of Amber's friends from singing and dance school will be coming along to watch her performance."
Amber has been passionate about musical theatre since she was a young child.
She was a part of A&B Stage School for many years, a group that operates in West Cumbria.
She had a major role in this year's performance of Sister Act where she played as Delaurus, the main character, at The Solway Hall in Whitehaven.
Since leaving the stage school she has gone on to study performing at college and hopes to progress onto university and make it a career for herself.
Amber added: "I'm overwhelmed, it's so exciting. I can't wait to perform alongside such a major theatrical star."
Kerry Ellis - Queen of the West End will be coming to The Carnegie on Wednesday, November 13.
