NEW endoscopy modules arrived at The Cumberland Infirmary this week.

The modules will be used in the Endoscopy Unit which is currently being developed at The Cumberland Infirmary.

In a post on social media prior to the arrival, North Cumbria Integrated Care (NCIC) said: "The first of the modular units for the new endoscopy unit is arriving this weekend, which will bring some temporary disruption to the Cumberland Infirmary site.

"A crane is due to arrive and will be positioned on the road next to the roundabout in front of the hospital.

"This will prevent vehicles from using the main drop-off, although pedestrian access will remain."

Staff were on hand to provide those visiting the site with assistance during the process.

Disabled access to The Cumberland Infirmary remained unaffected.

NCIC added: "Thank you for your patience while we build this new unit."
