Join a north Cumbrian community centre in celebrating its 90th anniversary in October.

Currock House Community Centre, which opened in 1934, will mark 90 years with a day packed full of fun activities, history, and commemorative events on October 6.

It was one of the first community centres to open in England.

The 90th Anniversary Fun for All brings together community groups and organisations such as Tullie House, Carlisle United, ACT Youth Theatre, and the emergency services to provide a low-cost day out for the family.

There will be face painting, bingo, crafts, a theatre show and workshop, a history talk, boxing taster session, raffle, football inflatables, and a commemorative tree planting session - among others.

Adults will need to pay £1 to enter but children can go for free and eat for free too.

It will take place between 11am-2pm at Currock Community Centre on October 6.
