A section of the A595 has now re-opened following a road traffic collision.
Earlier this afternoon, Copeland Police issued an update on social media asking drivers to avoid the area near Pelican Garage and Aikbank Road while they make the scene safe.
A witness told the News and Star that it appeared that the collision involved an SUV and a motorbike.
The road has since re-opened.
