PLANS have been put forward to convert part of a farmhouse into holiday accommodation.
The proposal involves changing part of Henry's Hill Farmhouse in Kirklinton into a self-contained holiday home.
It was submitted to Cumberland Council's planning authority on September 18.
The application indicates that the garden space for the holiday accommodation would be separated from the existing dwelling, as would parking facilities.
The property is currently used as a single private dwelling.
"The proposed development will utilise part of an existing building allowing for farm diversification and securing additional income revenue," the design and access statement reads.

"Future maintenance of the property and grounds will continue to be sourced using local tradespeople where possible.
"The proposed works will bring about a use which will see increased tourism to the area therefore benefitting local services such as pubs and shops."
"The proposal will have a minimal influence on the character of the environment and the area sense of place due to the existing use.
"It is well documented that the farming industry faces financial struggles.
"This proposal aims to mitigate financial strains by securing an additional income stream," it states.
