THE second phase of bridge improvement work near Keswick has been postponed due to the 'upcoming weather forecast'.
The work on the A66 Threkeld Bridge, which involves waterproofing the bridge deck and resurfacing the road, started on Sunday, September 15, and was due to conclude on Monday, September 30.
However, following a 'successful' week of work, National Highways North West has announced that the second phase will be postponed.
Writing on social media, they said: "After a successful week of improvements, the second phase of planned works has been postponed due to the upcoming weather forecast.
"For safety, we will aim to recommence at 8pm on Sunday, September 29 to midday Friday, October 4.
"Changes to planned works will be shared via road signage, social media and our website."
