Police are investigating an assault involving three people that occurred on Crosby Street, Maryport at approximately 5.45pm on Friday, September 21.

One man has been arrested and subsequently bailed in relation to this incident. The investigation remains ongoing and and police are actively seeking witnesses.

The assault suspect has been described as a white man in his late 30s. At the time of the incident he was wearing black three-quarter trousers with a white stripe down the sides, black shoes and a blue Berghaus jumper.

A woman involved is in her mid-30s and was wearing a white jumper, black shorts and black shoes. This woman sustained facial injuries.

The other man involved was wearing blue denim shorts, a black coat and a dark green hat.

A spokesperson for Cumbria Police said: "Anyone with information relating to this incident can report online,  quoting incident number 230 of 20/09/2024. You can also phone on 101."
