A MUCH-LOVED Cumbrian bakery will be expanding once again, as it prepares to open a new dine-in café in the centre of Cockermouth.
Cumbrian Baker was founded in 2020 by owner Sharon Rutland from her garage kitchen.
The business will now take a significant step, opening a new dine-in café later this year, with the team saying they will be offering their 'same wholesome grub with a twist, with weekend brunches and a bigger menu from the former Veeva café on Station Street in the town.
In a statement on social media, The Cumbrian Baker team said: "When we launched Cumbrian Baker four years ago, we had no idea it would grow into the CB family we all know and love today.
"We've had the pleasure of growing our amazing team, welcoming new customers every week and sharing this wild and wonderful experience with our incredible wholesale and takeaway customers that have been with us from the beginning.
"That said, our small but mighty team is growing just a l'al bit more, and we are over the moon to announce we will be opening a new dine-in cafe later this year!
"Be sure to follow along with our journey as we have many more updates to come in the following months, and we cannot wait to share more with you."
The business has gone from strength to strength since opening four years ago with the pies, cakes and sandwiches becoming a staple treat for many in the county and beyond.
