The people behind a supported living organisation in Carlisle have thanked a local contractor for lending a helping hand.

The Glenmore Trust tenants at Hetherington House recently bought a large gazebo to make better use of the outside space.

Looking for someone to help build it, Kelly Casey-Henderson, service manager for the trust, approached Mark Bewley of Top Notch Contractors for help.

The company kindly donated a team and their time to help build the gazebo, now complete to the delight of the house tenants.

A spokesperson from the Glenmore Trust said the gazebo opens up the outside space in their home, which continues to ‘enable them to live the life of their choosing’.

They provide supported living for those who want to live independently, either in their own homes or as joint tenants, but still need regular care.

They also offer community support, which can range from personal care to more complex assistance, depending on the individual.

For those with severe challenges like learning disabilities or autism, the trust has specially trained staff to provide tailored care.

Additionally, they have a respite service for short-term stays, offering both planned and emergency care.
