A Carlisle shopping centre is set to host an International Older Persons Day event.
The Lanes Shopping Centre will host its second International Day of Older Persons event on Tuesday, October 1 at 9 Grapes Lane, opposite Muffin Break in partnership with Age UK Carlisle & Eden.
At the event, the local charity will offer benefits advice, host a chatter and craft table, and some winter warmth giveaways.
Ahead of the event, Susan Young, centre manager at The Lanes said: "We’re always aiming to build on The Lanes’ support services and hosting the International Day of the Older Person offers our customers the opportunity to gain some practical support and advice, in a relaxed setting."
Joanne Rayson, age-friendly coordinator of Age UK Carlisle & Eden, added: "Age UK Carlisle and Eden are delighted to be invited for a second year to celebrate International Older Persons Day with the Lanes.
"On the day we will be offering benefits advice, you will be able to sign up for a free Home Energy check, join in a chatter and craft table and we have some winter warmth giveaways.
"We will also have our Rail of Kindness, where you can donate or take an adult’s winter coat."
