- A crash involving a car and a lorry has resulted in serious injuries and the road remains closed both ways.
- Cumbria police said the crash, on the A596 at Heathfield Railway Bridge, near Aspatria, was reported at 11.28am.
- The driver of the car, a Ford Fiesta, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital by air ambulance.
- The driver of the HGV did not suffer any injuries.
- Anyone who witnessed the collision and is yet to speak to the police is asked to make contact.
