CARLISLE Cathedral will be undergoing a safeguarding audit.
This is part of an initiative that will incorporate all of the Church of England.
The aim is to ensure everyone in the diocese is safe and well.
Those involved with the diocese are asked to complete an online survey.
In a post on social media, Carlisle Cathedral wrote: "As you may have seen, Carlisle Cathedral and the Diocese of Carlisle are to undergo an independent safeguarding audit as part of a Church of England-wide initiative, commissioned by the archbishop’s Council and carried out by the INEQE Safeguarding Group.
"The aim of the audit is to ensure dioceses and cathedrals throughout the Church of England are doing all they can to create environments where everyone feels safe, valued, and respected.
"As part of this, an anonymous online survey has been created and we kindly ask all members of Cathedral life to take a few moments to complete the survey and contribute their thoughts to this important process.
"Thank you to everyone who has completed the survey so far. The survey is open until Wednesday, November 6, 2024, and we would greatly appreciate the assistance of people who visit or worship at the Cathedral."
