AN iconic sculpture in West Cumbria will be lit up pink this week.
The Wave on Whitehaven Harbour is being lit up pink to mark Organ Donation Week.
The sculpture is regularly lit up by the Whitehaven Harbour Commissioners to mark different events.
In a post on social media, the Whitehaven Harbour Commissioners wrote: "We're lighting The Wave pink over the next few days in recognition of Organ Donation Week.
"Organ Donation Week runs until September 29 this year and is a campaign that takes place every year to raise awareness of the ongoing need for organ donors.
"More than 7,600 people are in need of an organ transplant, including over 250 children. Each year around 1,400 people donate, but despite these remarkable people the waiting list continues to rise.
"And it's now the 30th year of the NHS Organ Donor Register."
