A special line-up of seasonal events at two of the Lake District’s top attractions is offering people of all ages plenty to look forward to this autumn.

Families can join Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway for some spooktacular children's activities in Halloween week.
As well as seeing devilishly good decorations adorning the railway’s stations and cafés, there will be the added seasonal spectacle of ‘double-header trains’ featuring two heritage steam engines rather than the usual one.
Two Teddy Mountain ‘Build Your Own Bear’ workshops will take place at Dalegarth Station on Tuesday, October 22 and Tuesday, October 29.
Kids can choose and craft their furry friend, giving their teddy bear a name and even receiving an official birth certificate before taking their new toy home.
Meanwhile, the popular ‘Little Engineers Days’ with children’s author Chris Vine return on Wednesday, October 30 and Thursday 31, featuring a special Halloween-themed storytelling event.
Young engineers will be met at Ravenglass by Chris and taken on a ‘behind the scenes’ railway adventure.
That includes visiting the steam engine running shed, seeing the engineering workshop to piece together how a steam engine operates, taking turns to pull the levers in the signal box and enjoying a trip up the sidings on the footplate.
In the early afternoon the group will move over to Ravenglass Railway Museum for storytime about ‘The Ghost Train’.  After the main event, families can head up the line on adventures of their own.

Ahead of half-term, people can also make tracks for a special ‘Pie and Mash train’ on Friday, October 18 for a scenic seven-mile journey with Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway.
The evening return train trip on one of the attraction’s diesel trains starts at Ravenglass station and includes a serving of traditional pie and mash, followed by a hot pudding at Dalegarth Station.
Over at the railway’s sister attraction, Ullswater Steamers, a very special Dawn Photography cruise will offer passengers a snapshot of the lake’s autumn colours on Thursday, November 7.
Participants can capture the dawn through the lens on board this three-hour cruise, setting off at 7am from Glenridding Pier.
The unique memory-making experience is an opportunity to capture the stunning scenery from a new perspective, meet local photographers and share ideas. It also includes tea/coffee and a croissant on board.
