We're highlighting the shortlisted salons in our competition in the News & Star. Each of the establishments will be featured over ten issues.
The Loft Beauty Rooms has been nominated by News & Star readers as one of the ten finalists in its 'Best Beauty Salon 2024' award.
The salon, located on Orton Grange Farm is owned by business partners Hayley Sewell and Paula Dunn who took over the business in September 2016.
After being informed that The Loft Beauty Rooms had been chosen by News & Star readers to feature in the final ten of the 'Best Beauty Salon 2024' award, Paula was on hand to express her delight.
She said: "We are delighted to have been nominated, it is nice to get that recognition.
"You come to work and you do your best every day so it is nice to know that it is appreciated and people are thinking about us and want to put us forward for things like this.
"We have been nominated for other awards but it is so nice that our customers are putting us forward for this off their own backs.
At The Loft Beauty Rooms, Hayley and Paula offer a wide range of services and treatments and have recently implemented a new Reiki experience, and for Paula, it is this variety as well as the salon's friendly environment that has made it so popular/
She said: "We cover all of the basic areas of beauty, we do waxing, nails, and tinting. We use Elemis as our product range so we do all the face and body treatments alongside that.
"Hayley has also recently completed her Reiki training so she has started doing that and that has taken off really well.
"I think we try and keep it quite informal with our clients. Our clients become our friends after a while and we love greeting them with a friendly face and making them feel calm and relaxed when they come.
"We also get a lot of men coming into the salon which sometimes can be a female-dominated environment so we try and keep the decor as neutral as possible so it is welcoming for everything."
