Coastguards were tasked with securing the helicopter landing site at a hospital as mountain rescuers transferred a casualty yesterday evening (September 27).
Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team said the task to assist in Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team’s transferring of the casualty in this way offered a chance to familiarise themselves with the helicopter and its capabilities and to have useful conversations with the crew about improving their coordination in future responses.
