A NEW bar will be opening in Carlisle's city centre, dedicated to showcasing local talent and supporting emerging musicians.
Ben Read and Kelsey Little, who have previously brought Ballers and Truth nightclub to the city, have announced the launch of The Live Lounge at 15 Warwick Road, across from the Halston Hotel.
"We wanted to bring something unique to Carlisle," Kelsey said.
"We already have bars in the city which host live singers and musicians however, none really reflect nor shine a spotlight on the new and upcoming musicians and artists - those who are new to the industry trying to create a name for themselves."
The pair's vision is inspired by what they believe Carlisle lacks compared to other venues around the UK and the world.
They aim to provide a platform for musicians and performers to "shine and grow into what they desire to be."
Their industry connections and contacts will be utilised to create an "all-around musical success."
The venue is currently undergoing a makeover, with the duo hoping to open in the coming weeks.
"Ben and I are always looking for the next best thing and we always like to challenge ourselves," Kelsey said.
"Therefore, The Live Lounge is in the middle of a makeover.
"Like our other bars, we always try to put our stamp on things.
"Therefore we are hoping to be open in the next few weeks, however like anything, something unexpected will no doubt appear in the process so nothing is set in stone, yet.
"We don't want to rush an opening date as we want to make sure that everything is to the highest standard possible.
"But when we do have an opening date, it will be no secret, we will throw a party to celebrate the opening, so keep your eyes peeled," she said.
Paying tribute to their former venue, Truth, just off Botchergate, the duo shared on social media: "We held some of the most amazing nights, DJs and private events, and Ben and I just want to thank every single one of you for the support, the love and the custom over the last three years.
"Sadly as you are all aware, Truth has shut its doors and is in the process of being rehomed to another local family who also are business owners, like Ben and I, and we are so excited to see what they have in store for the place.
"We know that the place will be in safe hands."
