A WEST Cumbrian home distillery business is beginning to grow one year after it first opened.
Stanaway's, in Whitehaven, has been operating for just over a year under the watchful eye of Pete Stanaway.
Pete runs the one-man operation from his home at Hensingham, in Whitehaven, where he produces an array of spirits.
Throughout the past 12 months, Pete has been producing whiskey, vodka, rum, and gin from his home distillery to sell to customers around Cumbria.
He says that he has been passionate about producing alcohol for about two decades and eventually decided that he would like to start his business venture.
Mr Stanaway said: "I buy in the raw ingredients, ferment them, then distill them into spirits like vodka, whiskey, rum, and gin.
"It's been a slow start, but it seems to be picking up now, I still need to get the word out to people.
"I've been advertising through Facebook and Instagram; I now also have an advert outside of Morrison's supermarket in Whitehaven.

"All of the customers that I've supplied to have been in Cumbria so far.
"I plan to let more people know that I'm here and see what they are interested in buying.
"I want to continue to make rum and whiskey as they are aged products, the rum is proving to be the most popular item so far. I just want to say that I have a lot more products on the way.
"I'm currently producing fifty-litre batches once a month, I start work at 7.30am and stop at 11pm.
"It's great to have my distilling operation in my own house.
"I've always been passionate about making my own alcohol and I've home-brewed for almost twenty years now.
"Aside from spirits, I've also created my own beers and wines."
