Fans of M.W. Craven's books have the opportunity to feature as a named character in a future novel by supporting a north Cumbrian village hall.
Scotby Village Hall is running a prize draw for someone's name to be used as a character by the popular crime writer - although, it's entirely up to Mr Craven on how he uses the character.
He donated the opportunity to support the village hall in its endeavour to raise money for the ongoing renovations of the building.
Mr Craven spent his first few months as a baby in Scotby and now is helping to maintain the hub for future generations.
Renovation work at the hall has included a brand new kitchen, a new roof, and the hall has been fully plastered.
Money raised through the prize draw will help to bring Scotby Village Hall up to modern standards.
Tickets can be purchased for £10 on the Scotby Village Hall website or by calling Mandy on 07771 650046.
Mr Craven will pick the winner at random on Saturday October 19.
