Cumberland Council has launched a social media channel to engage with its young residents.
The new initiative, called 'Cumberland Youth Voice', is set to aid in amplifying the voices of young people and helping them understand their rights and available choices.
Currently, on Instagram and Facebook, this platform aims to share the work of young people in various active participation groups.
It also highlights their contribution in influencing the decisions of the council and the broader community.
Additionally, the channel provides information on available support for children and young people in Cumberland such as careers advice, safety advice, and relevant health campaigns or grants.
The channel will showcase the work of numerous participation and engagement groups supported by Cumberland Council, which operate across the county.
Martin Birch, director of children and family wellbeing at Cumberland Council, said: "Cumberland Youth Voice aims to reach all young people, helping to improve accessibility to our services.
"It rightly champions the voices of our incredible and creative young people involved in children’s led participation and engagement groups and others from across Cumberland, each of whom are passionate about improving services and creating a lasting positive change."
Cumberland Youth Voice participation and engagement groups meet fortnightly in the Carlisle and West areas.
