A NORTH Cumbrian takeaway has been handed a new four-out-of-five food hygiene rating.
Mainstreet Snack Shack, a takeaway on Main Street, Keswick was given the score after assessment on August 29, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.
The hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling, and storage was found to be Very Good.
The cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building were found to be Very Good, and the management of food safety was found to be Generally Satisfactory.
This includes the system or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future
It means that of Cumberland's 241 takeaways with ratings, 142 (59 per cent) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
