A man fell 10 metres, injuring his head and back while walking in the Lake District.
The walker was descending Great Gable towards Windy Gap when he slipped and tumbled.
After being alerted on October 4 at 3.21pm, Keswick Mountain Rescue Team requested support from Helimed 58 and Coastguard 199 – rescue helicopters.
A spokesperson from the team explained: “As the Keswick team was making their way from Honister Helimed 58 approached but due to weather conditions could not land.
“Later as team members arrived at the scene R199 arrived and landed on nearby Green Gable.
“The injured man was provided some pain relief and packaged in a vacuum mattress.

“The man was then carried by stretcher down some awkward rocky steps and up to the helicopter for an airlift to hospital.
“Many thanks to the walker’s colleague who looked after the casualty whilst awaiting for rescue assistance and to R199 and Helimed 58.”
The callout lasted four hours and 14 minutes.
