A Carlisle-based electronic band has announced the release of a new album.

NOVABLOOD, fresh from their appearance at the legendary Ibiza nightclub Pikes last month, have released ‘Destroy the Magic’, their first album for London-based record label Old World-New World on October 4.

The album has been internationally praised, namely by the dance music website Chromatic Club which described it as ‘incredible’, and by Spanish music magazine ‘Zone’ which gave it a 10 out of 10 rating.

Indian dance music website The Music Essentials called it 'a standout album', describing the band as 'unmissable'.

The trio, comprising singer/songwriter Mark Zowie, guitarist Paul Newton and Paolo Di Liberto on ‘technology’, signed to Old World-New World this summer, having previously released two singles for them and recently a third, Move Through You, coinciding with the release of this album.

The single received national airplay in Ireland on Christian Homan’s dance music show on RTE Pulse ahead of its official release.

Mr Zowie said: “The response from the first set of songs was incredible.

“We had labels wanting the album very early on its conception.

“We eventually went with Old World-New World who deal with some incredible artists both from their label and their management company”.

Describing the process of creating the album, he said: “The writing of Destroy The Magic became such a fun writing process and I think it brought energy to the compositions.

“The arrangements in part are quite instant but there’s a brooding element I don’t think you hear too often in song-led dance-orientated music.

“The lyrical content is about the spectrum of love and hate.

“Failed relationships and how we deal with those either in a positive or negative destructive manner.”

Destroy The Magic is available to buy on vinyl as well as the usual digital platforms such as Apple Music, iTunes and Spotify.

The band will play dates around the UK including stop-offs at Liverpool, Leeds, Derby, Stoke, Newport and London between now and early 2025.
