A walker who slipped and hurt their leg was stretchered down by mountain rescuers.
Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team said they were called at 5.05pm on October 3 by Northwest Ambulance Service to help the casualty who was descending Helvellyn at Mires Beck near Glenridding.
They responded from their base in two Land Rovers to treat the casualty.
A team spokesperson said: “On arrival, they quickly found the casualty not far from the vehicles as they had nearly finished their walk.

“The casualty was given strong pain relief and the ankle was splinted, they were then placed on a stretcher and carried down to the Land Rovers.
“The casualty was transported down to their vehicle in the village and conveyed to hospital for further treatment by their friend.”
13 team members were involved in the rescue which lasted two hours.
