A Whitehaven man has been arrested following a number of shoplifting incidents.
An officer from the Copeland Neighbourhood team arrested Matthew Jones, 28 from Whitehaven, on Sunday evening, he has since been charged with two offences of shoplifting and will appear in court later this month.
Mr Jones has also been given bail conditions not to enter Heron Foods and Morrisons in Whitehaven.
Copeland Police wrote on social media: "We will continue to work hard and target those individuals who think such behaviour is acceptable and take positive action to prosecute them.
"Thank you to the businesses who report incidents and support police through their investigations, this type of joint working is what helps to produce positive outcomes."
