Local police officers in Eden have warned residents and business owners to be ‘vigilant’ after receiving intel on a number of fake £20 notes in the area.

Police have said that despite the note appearing real, there are some clear signs to show that the note had been forged.

A spokesperson for Eden Police said: “The paper appears real however, there is some signs this is fake as pictured.

“King Charles is not on the reverse seen through window.

“If you tilt the silver strip on the front of the note the writing reads Prop money. The print is also very smooth. Please be vigilant.”
