A PLANNING application for a proposed Battery Energy Storage Site (BESS) in the Carlisle area will be decided next week.
The applicant, Immersa, is hoping to develop a site on land to the south of Cargo Beck House in Cargo and the application also requests permission for access, landscaping and associated infrastructure.
Members of Cumberland Council's planning committee are due to meet at Allerdale House in Workington next Wednesday (October 16) from 10.30am.
According to the planning report it is before the committee because the application is of strategic significance and it is for a renewable energy development which covers an area of one hectare or more.
The report states: "It is recommended that this application is approved with conditions."
