After being informed that The Beauty Room, Morton Manor had been chosen by News & Star readers to feature in the final ten of the 'Best Beauty Salon 2024' award, Andrea was on hand to express her delight.
She said: "I was so surprised when I found out I was nominated for this award, it truly made my day and makes me feel so honoured knowing readers have taken the time to put The Beauty Room up for this award.
"After being in the beauty industry for so long this really does mean the world to me.
"When my daughter was little, I took her to nursery within Morton Manor.
"Realising what a lovely and welcoming place it was, I asked if there happened to be any rooms available to start my beauty salon, and to my absolute joy they said yes.
"That was in 2002, and now 22 years later after a lot of hard work, I am still as busy as ever and loving every second."
At her salon, Andrea offers a wide range of services and treatments from waxing and pedicures to manicures and massages, and thanked all of her clients for their continued support as she continues working 'the best job in the world'.
She said: "I absolutely love to hear how my treatments make people feel, knowing I've helped someone to relax and feel good about themselves truly is one of the best parts of my job.
"I wouldn't be where I am now without the loyalty and kindness of my incredible clients, who are honestly more like friends.
"When you work alone it's especially nice having lovely conversations with people and building genuine relationships.
"I always ensure I allow plenty of time for each client so I can give them the best treatment possible and also have time for a good catch-up.
"I absolutely love working in the beauty industry and always have done, spending time with lovely people and making them feel amazing is honestly the best job in the world."
