Jenni Sharpe will start her role as a Slimming World consultant in the Carlisle Morton branch on October 21. Here, she shares her story with us...
At 2 stone 9 lbs overweight, I found myself lacking confidence. I would try on different outfits, but nothing ever looked right. On the outside, I put on a brave face, but inside, I was miserable.
I had been a member of a slimming group before, but this time felt different. I was welcomed warmly by the group, met at the door by smiling faces, and instantly felt at ease.
This group was amazing—truly supportive. Image therapy became a game changer for me, helping me identify the habits that needed to change. Being surrounded by people who understood the struggles of slimming gave me comfort, and their advice and encouragement were invaluable.
The sense of belonging I felt made the journey less lonely. I’ve even made friends for life through this process.
Being a slimmer can be tough, but the heartfelt support I received reminded me that I wasn’t alone. I don’t want anyone to feel the way I did before I found this group.
Food optimising has also transformed my relationship with food. I learned how to make healthy versions of my favourite meals, like chicken korma, without feeling deprived. The plan even has convenient options for food on the go, making it easier to stick with my goals.
Now, I’m embracing the new me. I’ve started exercising, and I love the energy and confidence it brings. With the love, support, and practical strategies I’ve gained, I’m finally on the path to feeling healthier and happier. I’ll always be grateful for this journey and the support I’ve received along the way.
It’s time to help others. No one should carry the burden that weight gain can bring—physically or emotionally. After my own transformative experience, I’m more determined than ever to give back. My goal isn't just to help people lose weight; it’s to inspire them to guide the next generation in making healthier choices.
Being healthy doesn’t need to be expensive, and by embracing these positive changes, we can even help reduce the strain on the NHS. Together, we can make healthier living accessible to everyone, and along the way, discover just how amazing it feels to take control of our well-being.
This journey has also opened up exciting new opportunities for me. A new career, one that brings fulfilment and joy, With the right support and a community to lean on, you can achieve more than you ever imagined—both in body and in life.
Let's walk this path together.
