A CELEBRATION of 50 years of Cumbria Tourism will be held at a Lake District brewery later this month.
The event will be the second hosted by Newsquest Cumbria as part of the Cumbria Tourism 50th anniversary celebrations- following a successful event held in Carlisle back in May.
As part of the celebration, networkers will be treated to talks from Cumbria Tourism members Hawkshead Relish and The Dock Museum, Barrow, as well as sampling the fantastic ales on offer at Bowness Bay Brewery.
Head of partnerships and projects at Cumbria Tourism, Rachel Tyson, said: “Following a successful event in Carlisle earlier in the year, we’re really looking forward to working with our strategic partners LocaliQ again on this joint event in Kendal.
"It’s always inspiring to meet directly with businesses who are so passionate about promoting Cumbria and this time around, we’re expecting some brilliant presentations from Cumbria Tourism member businesses including Hawkshead Relish and The Dock Museum in Barrow.
“We’ll also hear from Cumbria Community Foundation, who have helped us set up our 50th Anniversary Charity Fund to help support and kickstart careers and training in the local tourism and hospitality industry. It’s an opportunity for people to sample some of our special anniversary-themed fundraising products too – and, of course, that includes Fell Explorer, made on site by Bowness Bay Brewing.”
Bowness Bay Brewery have said they are 'incredibly grateful' to host the evening in their popular event space, The Venue with the missions of the Cumbria Tourism anniversary being close to the businesses heart.
Rick Eastwood, operations director at Bowness Bay Brewery said: "First and foremost, we would like to take this opportunity to officially congratulate Cumbria Tourism on their 50th Anniversary.
"As a proud local business, we strongly believe in supporting the regional economy, which is why we brewed our Fell Explorer beer in honour of this significant milestone.
"We are committed to backing the initiatives behind the anniversary fund, as we believe in fostering economic growth and helping individuals launch their careers in Cumbria.
"In addition, we are incredibly grateful that In Cumbria and Cumbria Tourism chose The Venue, our cherished event space, to host their upcoming networking event. We value social engagement and believe that networking provides a fantastic platform for individuals and businesses to come together, share insights, and discuss the latest developments within the industry."
The networking event will take place at Bowness Bay Brewery, Kendal on Wednesday, October 23 from 5pm, to find out more or secure your free ticket you can click here.
